ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 teaspoons More granulated sugar (about )
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 pint blueberries
  • 1/2 Cup Butter flavored Crisco stick
  • Directions

    Preheat oven to 450.

Take a large cookie sheet and cover base of sheet with non-stick aluminum foil.

Mix flour, baking powder, salt and 3/4 cup of sugar. Cut in the Crisco. Add the milk and stir with spoon. The mixture should be wet and sticky. If not, add a bit more milk. Gently stir in the blueberries.

Spoon out the resulting dough onto the non-stick foil into 12 scones. Make 12. Not more. They look big, but they will cook best if you make 12. Sprinkle about 1/2 of a teaspoon of sugar onto the top of each scone.

Bake for about 12 minutes, or until they are pretty.
